December 8. Southampton, England. Embark Saga PearI II.
Depart 1600. After embarking, look forward to a welcome cocktail party where you can meet your fellow Maritime Memories’ cruisegoers.

December 9. Zeebrugge (for Bruges), Belgium. Arrive 1200. Depart 2200. Zeebrugge is a gateway to Belgium’s maritime past. The historic port of Bruges delights visitors with its medieval buildings and canals. Every December its main square is transformed into a
traditional festive market where you can browse wooden stalls packed with Christmas gifts, cards and decorations, all in perfect keeping with its legacy as trading post of the Hanseatic League. Alternatively, explore Antwerp’s past as the departure point for the millions of emigrants seeking to start new lives in America and Canada during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

December 10-11. At sea. December 12. Gothenburg, Sweden. Arrive 0800. Depart 2000. After cruising gracefully up the Göta Älv river, Saga Pearl II will arrive in Sweden’s second largest city. A quagmire until the 17th century, the city owes its existence to its strategic position on the North Sea trading route, although its elegant art nouveau architecture is thanks to a spate of fires razed earlier incarnations to the ground. Modern Gothenburg's trendy Haga shopping district and charming canal-laced old town are especially magical in the run up to Christmas!

December 13. Copenhagen, Denmark. Arrive 0800. Depart 2200. Copenhagen has no fewer than four Christmas markets open during the Advent weeks leading up to Christmas. Of special note is the hugely popular Tivoli Gardens, a whimsical amusement park which is set within beautiful grounds blanketed in bokeh-like illuminations. Alternatively, explore Denmark’s fascinating seafaring history on a trip to the Maritime Museum and Kronborg Castle.

December 14. Cruise the Kiel Canal. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon watching life along the towpath and see the ship negotiate the locks at either end of the Kiel Canal.

December 15. Bremerhaven (for Bremen), Germany.Arrive 1100. Depart 2200. From Bremerhaven you can discover the Hanseatic city of Bremen which becomes a sea of lights every December. Time stands still in its medieval main square, a UNESCO-listed setting for the 170 or so beautifully decorated stalls which gather in front of the 15th-century town hall. With a whole day and evening in Bremerhaven, you might also like to see where Saga's newest ship is being built on an included full-day visit to Meyer Werft’s visitor centre.

December 16. At sea. Enjoy a special farewell dinner with your fellow Maritime Memories’ cruisegoers.

December 17. Southampton, England. Arrive 0800. Disembark Saga Pearl II after breakfast.
